Abstract:Objective To investigate the effect of combined use of 3M Cavilon ? No Sting Barrier Film（NSBF）and hyperbaric oxygen therapy（ HBOT） on chronic refractory wound（ CRW） and its impact on wound repair factors. Methods A total of 92 patients with CRW admitted to Wuhan Third Hospital between February 2023 and October 2024 were assigned into dressing group（n=46，treated with 3M NSBF）and study group（n=46，treated with 3M NSBF combined with HBOT）randomly. Two groups were compared in terms of efficacy，wound area，Numerical Rating Scale （NRS）score，serum inflammatory markers［C -reactive protein（CRP），interleukin- 6（IL - 6）］，and wound repair factors［vascular endothelial growth factor（VEGF），epidermal growth factor（EGF），platelet-derived growth factor （PDGF）］. Results The total effective rate of the research group was 95.65%（44/46），which was higher than the 80.43%（37/46）of the dressing group(χ2=5.059，P=0.024）. Compared with before treatment， after 4 weeks of treatment，the wound area and NRS score of both groups decreased（P<0.05），and the study group was better than the dressing group. After 4 weeks of treatment，both groups had lower serum CRP and IL-6 than before treatment（P<0.05）， and study group showed lower levels than dressing group（P<0.05）. After 4 weeks of treatment，the VEGF，EGF，and PDGF in both groups were higher than those before treatment（P<0.05），study group had higher Results than dressing group（P<0.05）. Conclusion 3M NSBF combined with HBOT has a better effect on CRW patients. It can effectively improve inflammation and pain，significantly upregulate wound repair factors，and significantly reduce the wound area.
