Abstract:The advent of minimally invasive cardiac surgery represents a pivotal milestone in cardiovascular surgical evolution，fundamentally revolutionizing the therapeutic paradigm of conventional sternotomy and propelling substantial advancements in this discipline. As an innovative refinement of traditional approaches，the right axillary mini-thoracotomy approach（RAMT）exemplifies the successful integration of minimally invasive principles with cardiac surgical interventions. By utilizing an intercostal access via the axillary region，this technique achieves optimal surgical field exposure while effectively mitigating risks of sternal trauma and preserving thoracic integrity. Currently established as a routine option for congenital heart defects and valvular pathologies，RAMT has gained widespread adoption owing to its demonstrated clinical merits including minimized trauma，accelerated recovery，and reduced postoperative complications，with substantial operative experience now documented. This review systematically examines current clinical applications and research progress in RAMT implementation，with particular focus on its technical superiority，refinement of indications，and future research priorities in cardiac surgical practice.
