Abstract:Inhalation anesthesia sensitivity is related to the postoperative outcomes of patients, and studies have shown that mutations or deletion of certain genes are related to inhalation anesthesia sensitivity. Neural precursor cell expressed, developmentally down- regulated protein 4 (NEDD4) is an E3 ubiquitin ligase. Studies have shown that NEDD4 is involved in regulating intracellular signal transduction pathway, affecting mitochondrial function and energy metabolism. It can also affect the sensitivity of neurons to narcotic drugs by regulating the ubiquitination state of proteins related to synaptic plasticity. In this review, NEDD4 is involved in inhalation anesthesia sensitivity mechanisms by regulating neuronal excitability, signal transduction, ion channels or receptors, affecting mitochondrial function, synaptic plasticity and energy metabolism.
