Abstract:Objective To investigate the impact of different fixed lengths of StatLock on the comfort of patients undergoing percutaneous transhepatic cholangial drainage（PTCD）. Methods A retrospective study was conducted，including 74 patients who underwent PTCD at Affiliated Jiangning Hospital of Nanjing Medical University from June2019 to June 2020. The patients were divided into two groups based on the method of catheter fixation：the original position fixation group（n=35）and the intermediate position fixation group（n=39）. A retrospective analysis was made between the two groups regarding treatment efficacy，safety，comfort，and satisfaction. Results All 74 patients completed the PTCD procedure. There was no statistically significant difference between the two groups in terms of PTCD tube patency rate（91.4% vs 89.7% ，χ2=0.023，P=0.880），tube removal rate（0 vs 5.1% ，P=0.495），or incidence of biliary infection（28.57% vs 30.77%，χ2=0.043，P=0.836）. The Short-Form McGill Pain Questionnaire（SF-MPQ）scores in both groups showed a decreasing trend over time（P<0.05）. The inter group and time effects of the two SF-MPQ scores were statistically significant（PgrouP=0.038，Ptime<0.01），while the interaction effect was not statistically significant（Pinteraction=0.275）. There were no statistically significant differences in General Comfort Questionnaire（GCQ）scores and satisfaction scores between the two groups of patients before discharge（P>0.05）. Conclusion Both original position fixation and intermediate position fixation demonstrate good safety and treatment efficacy. original position fixation can reduce patient pain and improve comfort in the short term compared to intermediate position fixation.
