Abstract:Objective To explore the clinical value of the advanced lung cancer inflammation index (ALI) in the differential diagnosis of benign and malignant breast diseases. Methods A retrospective collection was conducted from June 2022 to June 2024, involving 573 patients with breast diseases who visited Gansu Provincial Maternity and Child-care Hospital for the first time. Based on postoperative pathological results, patients were divided into a breast cancer group (288 cases) and a benign breast disease group (285 cases). Clinical indicators of the two groups were compared, Receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve analysis was used to evaluate the diagnostic value of ALI for benign and malignant breast diseases. The correlation between ALI and indicators related to breast malignant tumors were measured. Results The ALI in the breast cancer group was higher than that in the benign breast disease group [68.00 (55.00, 91.75) vs 48.73 (36.63, 59.06)], with statistically significant difference (Z= 13.008, P＜0.01). ROC curve analysis indicated that the area under the curve for ALI in differentiating between benign and malignant breast diseases was 0.814 (95%CI: 0.780-0.845). Patients with lymph node metastasis had a lower level of ALI (P＜ 0.05). Conclusion Preoperative ALI can be served as a basis for the differential diagnosis of benign and malignant breast diseases, and ALI level is lower in patients with lymph node metastasis of breast malignant tumors.
